CHECK warning light

Hi im new to the forum, i have recently bought a e30 325 sport, very please with it although the check light will flash up now and again on the dash, car appears to be driving fine and everthing appears to be working, any ideas what it could be?

it will falsh everytime you start the car until you press the brake pedal

then it will only continue to flash if there is somthing wrong, there should be a panel on the roof next to the sunroof controls with different lights on with descriptions above them, this will tell you the problem (if theres one) such warnings include oil level, coolant level, if lights are out etc

now that i think about it, it flashes the brake light on the roof.

Sometimes it'll light up cause of the washer fluid sloshing around as you cain a corner
