Had a fantastic time at Silverstone yesterday.

It was wet and greasy which made it even harder than I thought.

The Pace lap really shat me up because I struggling to keep up. First session went really well, lots of minor sliding but no spinning from me.

The rest of the sessions were even better as the track dried out. I really started understanding the lmits of my driving ability in this car.

It was an extremely educational experience aswell as being alot of fun. I have to really concentrate on getting my braking right , I was braking way too early and not hard enough.

After the day had ended I was thinking that the Cup kit was not good but then looking at the conditions and the fact I was on hard compound road tyres it did very well - it was extremely predictable and balanced. The fact that I didnt lose control kinda explains it

I drove the C2 for 3 laps and quickly came back - tyres were all wrong, no grip at all, serious understeer and more sideways action than I would have liked. The owner spun in on every lap and didnt feel safe driving it.
Very quick out of corners and on straights though.

The best thing is my road driving is so much better now! I am finding myself taking corners at much higher speeds and have much more control over the car and I know what its going to do.

I even took my M5 for a drive last night and found myself driving that with much more control and much quicker round bends.

Will be going again at every oppurtunity!

Glad to hear you enjoyed yourself.

I really wanted to get up there yesterday, but alas, work kept me busy all day.

They are certainly addictive, and if you get a dry day at Silverstone you'll be grinning even more.

What circuit were you using, Grand Prix, National or International?

Glad you enjoyed yourself Sal, thought you might

My first and still only track day was in the bone dry, so it was a little less eventful.

One thing you have to be careful is that a track is a track and a road is a road, what i mean by this is...

A track will almost invaribly have a constant road surface and constant grip levels

A road won't, all it takes is for you to be near to the edge on the road hit a small pothole and it'll unsettle the car and you'll be in a ditch.

Anyway on a more positive note, well done dude, you and the car survived and had a good day out.

hahaha!!.....yes it made it home in the end.

Cheers for the rid ein the 3.2 EVO - I didnt realise they handled so bloody well even with standard suspension and nothng left of the rear top mounts.

Easily the best sounding car of the day after Nigels mad M3.

My car drank more water than fuel!!

Headgasket on way.
