There is some parking infront of the metro station round the corner I could use, but I'm not sure if they can still do me for no tak, it's a cobbled are infront of the station on a 90 degree bend with space for two rows of cars. Anyon had any experience of this?

Anything that has public money spent on it is classed as a public road.

The law is wordedas "off the public highway" so it doesn't matter who the land belongs to as long as it's not part of the national road network.
If I'm out of the yellow or white lines at the edge of the road, surely it's off road, as long as I'm not blocking th pavement or anything silly like that?
Cheers Kam good definition.

The only thing i can say is that that your garden/drive is classed as off road, and any private land.

Ive just seen your add on ebay, where the car is parked in the pics is NOT off road. The only bit that is off road, is the bit between the edge of the pavment and the front of the house....

I don't have a garden or drive, I'm a student living in a flat. If I did have a garden I wouldn't have posted this rediculous question.
YEAH I know that's not off road numpty, cos it's on the road. The tax runs out today so I'm ok fo a couple of hours. I'm not that stupid

in years gone by all ya had to do was park a car on a recovery truck etc and that was classed as off road also heard people removing wheels etc and got away with it
but now days no chance
eg widge u been here
the grass outside that i park on we believe belongs to the house
but the council cut the grass therefore i couldnt park out there without tax

I am leaving this nanny state at the earliest opportunity, and moving to a tax haven where you can still bribe government officals.
That's rediculously nannyis isn't it Daz, surely if you mowed it yourself then in theory (don't envy some one taking the DVLA to court) the councills claim is superflous?
