Don't know what "plastic cap" is on the brown one, but I would say they are right. Phone GSF with your car details, and let them tell you.

Not too sure. They are a fiver each cheaper than the BMW parts so I'll order them and if they arent up to scratch I'll send them back.

What's OE BMW? BMW don't make the sensors, or much else. They have them made to their spec. usually by many different suppliers and some turn out better than others.e30325itourer wrote:are these the same as oem bmw parts or copies?
The GSF/Eurocarparts ones may or may not be from one of these manufactuers, and may or may not be to full spec.

Don't assume that aftermarket suppliers are always dearer than your local friendly dealer.

Exactly Ive been surprised a few times as I always check BMW first before I order something from somewhere else hence why 99% of the time I usually order my parts directly from BMW.

Just to note they arrived today and look fine. No sign of the plastic flap thingy on the brown one! Just need to see if they fit but they look ok.

I cant fault the parts dept at Sytner in Solihull where I go as they actually know what they are talking about so I can desribe a part and what it does etc and they know which part of the diagram to look at etc and what other parts are needed. Its great compared to other places Ive been where they dont have a clue what they're selling.

BMW lay down stringent conditions to their franchisees regarding how they treat customers.

In Eire - I couldn't say i was mistreated as such and i am sure members of staff i have dealt with have been working within company regulations, i guess my point was more at people skills and knowledge of the oldeer cars - which out of the 3 dealers i'd know there is only one guy who is spot on the rest of the younger ranks i find to be idiots - i know i came accross harsh though..
didn't mean to sound so negative.......

Compared the new sensors to the originals there and they are a perfect fit and as good as if not better build than the Bosch ones that were in it.

Adam,
What was the reason for changing these? Have the new ones helped?

Im rebuilding the engine and changing all the seals and gaskets and anything else which I think would make a difference to how it runs.TheDutch wrote:Adam,

The car had some trouble starting when hot before the rebuild so hopefully by changing these sensors it should help.
