Can I put 17" bbs Wheels with a 45 or 50 series tire on my 86 320i without getting any rub or other problems

whch wheels are you thinking about? The only 17"BBS I know of are the really deep dish 5 stud 8 series wheels (but sure there are others out there)
I had 17" BK171's on my previous E30 which had a 30mm Drop
215/40/17" were fine
215/45/17" rubbed like a whores knickers

Sorry about the avatar. Replaced. the wheels I have researched are the wheels i found are the rx11 s 17". From what i understand is they are available for my car?
