Went out in the car last night and the O/S dipped beam was out.
Had 15mins to look at it in daylight today, checked the fuse (OK) and put in new bulb but it's still not working. N/S is working OK so it's not the relay.

Any ideas where to go next?

Only leaves the wire to the lamp and the earth wire, But don't assume a new bulb is a good bulb, and check the fuse by swapping it.

Thanks Brian. Bulb is OK, checked it in the working lamp. Will try fuse swap tomorrow. Is the loom prone to faults in any particular place?

No it's certainly not. Only place loom fails is at the speedo pickup on the differential cover.
Try bypassing the earth (brown) wire to the car body at the headlamp.
Do you have the "check" panel up by the interior mirror on your car?
