Hi all....

I'm currently running 205/55 tyres on silver TSW Stelth 15 x 7's, and i SO want to replace them with something better (alpinas pref)

I don't plan on lowering the car any further, but i do want to increase the rim size and reduce the profile considerably, as 55 looks huge!

Is there a limit to what tyre and rim size combo i can have? Don't want to effect the speedo or handling too much either.... ie i'd like to increase the wheel size by the same amount that the profile is reduced by to keep the same overall sizes i have at the moment.

Make sense??? :?

Cheers,

Nick

16" or 17" anything more you will have some sort of trouble.

16's are the best compromise.

17's would go great IMO, i consider those as a standard size which look good and are not too small. If your getting alpina reps get it in 17's.

i've 17 inch wolfrace alloys on my touring and it doesn't tramline at all. quite surprised cos i had 17s on my old xr4i and tried to kill me every time i drove it!

What do you mean by tramline, and why would a rim increase and a matching tyre profile decrease, size cause it?

I have no problems running 18" 8jx20 offset with 215/35/18 tyres and standard mtech setup.
Quite surprised really as my old 17" alpina reps fitted with 215/40/17 rubbed, maybe the tyre wall on the current nankangs is heavily rounded and not as flat faced as the previous falkens.
Andy.
