I thought it would be easy to get a standard back box with straight exit pipes for a 3 piece system. Every supplier I have tried (Bosal, Ernst) only have the angled ones.

Even BMW are strugling to find a back box with straight exit pipes.

Has anyone bought a new back box recently that has straight pipes, if so where from?

I don't want a "sports" one.

Any news on this? I'm also looking for straight pipes.

Which one? I have a Scorpion DTM at the moment on my 325i, and it's loud. Sounds good, but I find it tiresome most of the time. My 320i has a standard exhaust box (as far as I know), and its perfect for me.

I wanted a straight pipe back box because I prefer the look of them. As for not chosing a sports back box, this was based on the noise when linked to the rest of my system and the cost.

I have ended up with the garage doing a bit of jiggery pokery and putting straight pipes on an angled aftermarket back box. Haven't seen it yet so don't know the results.

Oh sorry, I misunderstood. Any idea when I can get one from, or am I looking at a visit to the stealers?

Interesting. Any idea what make it is? Is there a part number?

Don't remember what make, but I do remember it was one I'd heard of.

The part number was BM134, under description it's got 325 INJ8791 STP.

I'm quite pleased with it, sounds nice and smooth at low revs, and has a nice howl when you've got your foot down.

As I say they had it there within the hour, and I did specify that it had the straight pipes.

Hope it helps.

Thanks. Don't suppose you know if it's a two piece or three piece system? I need the back end of the 2 piece.

Is that definately correct chieftouring? I'm going to need a new back box (1989 325) before MOT time - mines got a bit of a hole in the bottom of it :(
I just checked on ECP and GSF and the part numbers appear to be different, the 320 prices are lower which would definately be good, as long as it'll fit!

My 89 320i exhaust is smaller than my 89 325i. I ended up getting one from Kwik Fit. Looks good, but a bit noisier than I expected.

We've been here before.
I tried to put a 320 touring back section on a 325 touring a few months ago, and the pipe that slides inside the other whwre the two join would not go together by less than 1mm. So close, that the other way around it would have fitted fine.
