Does it go straight on?
What do I need to get from the iS to give the 1.6 the same handling? Just springs and shocks?

IS has bigger front struts+ bigger front/rear ARB
Also has vented brakes+ rear discs..
Find a breaker and get it all.

It needs a full M-Tech setup because I want to be able to chuck it into corners like I can with the cab. Unless you can give me a good reason to leave it standard?!?
It's not slow for a 1.6 anyway, you should take it for a spin on Monday if you can lower yourself to getting into a 4-pot
Gwyn, so what I'd need from the iS is:
Front and rear ARB
Front struts
Front and rear shocks
Front and rear springs
Is that right (not worrying about the brakes)?
Cheers

Dont worry about Simon's comments - he just doesnt think much of 316's or anything less than his C2 for that matter.Simon13 wrote:but why does a 316 need a full m-tech setup?!
That isnt a nice comment to make Kermit - just because 316's may not be able to accelerate so fast doesnt mean they cant have decent suspension and carry speed through corners extremely well.

I don't tend to worry about his comments, he's a "muppet" anywayM5pilot wrote:Dont worry about Simon's comments - he just doesnt think much of 316's or anything less than his C2 for that matter.Simon13 wrote:but why does a 316 need a full m-tech setup?!

Perhaps he's afraid I'll be able to outhandle him in his nose-heavy 6-pot??

like u went in an auto 325i tourer round the block and now they are brilliant?
It's a shame i can't remember my 4 pots E30's thanks for pointing that out
u will also need the trailing arms, plus brake pipes to get the rears going
U might want the master cylinder off the 318iS as it might be a bigger one to cope with 4 disks and not 2 like 316
muppet out
bear in mind most second hand m-tech setups will have knackered shocks and rusty saggy springs
