Right. Basically my car sometimes does this. Last night it took 10 minutes to start! What happens, is you put the key in the ignition. Turn it and the ignition comes on fine. However when you try to turn the key further to start the car, nothing happens and you have to keep trying til it finally starts.
My mate says it could be the immobiliser not reading the key properly. As I said it only does this very occasionally but for some reason last night was the worst. My dad said it could be a loose wire on the starter motor but im not convinced. Any ideas people? Its rather annoying. Thanks in advance.
Not your usual starting problem??

Hmm, with the immobiliser thing? It has a full clifford alarm with remote locking so i assume it has an immobiliser. Guess i will have to take it somewhere. Auto electrician?

I had this problem on mine
and it turned out to be the solenoid on the starter
breaking down under heat.
next time it does it pop the bonnett (leave the ignition on)
on the back of the starter you have 3 bolt threads
cross the 2 uppermost ones with a 50p coin
(dont worry you wont get a shock)
and the car will probably start
if it does then its the solenoid playing up.
swapped mine over and its not done it since
if you leave it the time period for it starting gets longer and longer

Cool! Thanks. Hopefully it is that because when I went out this morning it started first time.

Immobilisers don't usually work on the starter circuit, but it's easy enough to check if yours does. Set the alarm and turn the key to start!
Tylermma is probably on the right track.
Not an auto is it?
