Goodyear eagle f1s. no contest, its the best tyre you can buy
if you can get it in that size then do it you will not regret it!

I dont think you can get Eagle F1 in a size that fits the 15" BBS anymore
Your choices are probably between Toyo tr-1 and Bridgestone RE-720 or SO3 pole position for decent quality tyres

Avoid any good deals on Avon's if you can - fitted a set to one of the cars and they are crap!

I run Toyo TS-1's on the back of my 318iS - i find them excellent, but then i don't rag the car to death
Got a track day in a couple of weeks, I'll see then how good / bad they are !

as above the Eagle F1 GSD3 are the best tyres I've ever had, I've tried most makes, and I'm running P-zeros at the moment (as I had to try them for myself) and they are NOT as good as the F1s (both of these were on 16" rims by the way)
however, getting the correct size F1s for 15" rims is the issue as has been mentioned
I've got some Goodyear NCT5s on some 15" rims as well, and they are nowhere near as good as the F1s, so don't get those...
strangely I would recommend the cheaper Goodyear Venturas - according to mytyres.co.uk they are still available and in that size (with a load index of 88V) - I've got them on my mk1 Golf, and although obviously the Golf is a lot lighter than a BMW so not a direct comparison, they are very very good, especially in the wet, and have lasted a long long time (maybe because the car is so light I admit)

I've got Avon ZV3's on the front of mine at the moment and while there not as good as F1's they are good for the money, just my opinion though !

I put a set of Michelin Pilot Exaltos on my 325i Touring a year and a half ago and I've never had such grip from an E30!!! Especially in the wet!!!
The directional tread does tend to pull the car along the camber of the road quite strongly - but it is worth it for the improved feel!
They are fookin' expensive though but tyres are surely something worth investing in. They have worn very well these tyres, whereas the Faclons on the car before were slick in no time with my lead boot.

for sensible money i'd go with falkens or toyo's
goodyear eagles are a very good tyre but a tad to expensive, you do pay for the brand name as you do with michelin/pirelli/continental
i drive my cars very hard and cannot complain about falkens performance especially if you look at the cost factor

IMHO I disagree - tyres ARE something where you do get what you pay for. You are not paying just for a name.
All tyres are a compromise between grip and longevity, but the more money you spend usually means more of both of the above factors.

Got to agree with you there Orange but I think without spending silly money its a case of horses for courses, everyone seems to have there favourit tyres. Personaly I think Eagle F1's are the muts nuts and the Avons I've got now and had before are good. I had 4 Pirelli P5000 Dragos and thought they were overpriced and a dissapointing let down.
