As the title say's i've been tempted to put the Rieger up for sale and start up a different project for the last couple of weeks now. I promised my missus and myself that this would be the the last highly modded car i'm ever going to do, but i'm sort of on a mission now, cause i feel i can do a better job this time round after the experience i've gained and get my car on the front pages of at least a couple of mags before i hang up my gloves. The project i have in mind will be based on another E30 convertible with outrageous kit, but it will also be running over 400bhp and be sporting at least 19" or 20" rims with better paintwork and a more tricked interior. The only question is how much would i put my car up for & who would have that kind of money to spend on a E30?

WHAT DO YOU THINK PEEPS ????

The car went back to it's bare shell when we built her, and we chnaged everything that can be changed so shes more or less a new car now. It would be sill to then chop her up again and spend another Ԛ£20k on her. She already owes me around Ԛ£35k, so i's start completly afresh if i was to do anything now. Beside's you can pick up really nice clean basic cabs for around the Ԛ£4k mark now. As for fleabay, that's not actually a bad idea. I might put it on there for a laugh just to see the interest it generates.

Someone offered me Ԛ£25k at a show before, but wanted me to convert the car to a LHD as he wanted to take it abroad, but i told him i wasn't interested. Imagine spending a small fortune doing the conversion, then he changes his mind and doesn't want the car anymore??? No thanks. I don'tb have to do another project as i'm more than happy with this car. I will probably also have to acrifice the Missus if i do go ahead because she was really upset when i was building the Rieger cause i was away every weekend for about 32 months in a row.

The kind of money i'd need for my next project, i'd have to sell the Rieger. I want to enjoy the blue one before i sell her. She's taken over 2 years to do, so i'm not in a hurry to sell her before i've enjoyed her

Besides, it's just a though i'm having about the Rieger. I dont defo want to sell her. I just want to know aht you guys though that's all.

I know what you mean Wez. If i do sell it'd have to be for enough money so that i wouldn't have to put any of my own money towards the new project (Not that i have any money now  )

I'm just itching cause i know i can do everything for half the money i'f spent on the Rieger, simply because i can get a lot of the things i'd need on sponsorship, whereas before, i had to pay the full whack for most of what i bought when i was doing the Rieger. We'll see what happens

This is the thing you sell it then the sponsorship does not happen after my first mag feature i had two on the build loads of people wanted to be in on the second one(tuner's,bikeshops etc) as they would get a mention in any other write up's but when it came to them letting me have bit's at discount it was not there so ended up costing me a fortune as i had stated the work on it so had to finish it(that was the one i wish i had kept)
I do not mean to put you off another build but i must say i got now were near what the both off them cost me to build when i sold them plus the many hour's and trips all over the place to get bit's.Here's a coulpe of pic's

Wez. I'm lucky that i've got to know everyone that worked on my car very well, so if i decide to go ahead with a 2nd build, i will get any parts promised. I do sympathise with you though, cause over the years, i must have spent about Ԛ£100 or close to it on modding cars and the only thing i have to show for my efforts is my 2 converts, a polo and a fat bank balance in the red. I'm just dreaming, but if i could sell the Rieger for Ԛ£20k or more, then i will defo do another project.

Lovely, the Candy Blue was the BEST colour ever on an LC, the 500 is an RZ not an RD isnt it?

All worth serious Ԛ£Ã”šÃ‚£Ãƒ”šÃ‚£Ãƒ”šÃ‚£Ãƒ”šÃ‚£Ãƒ”šÃ‚£ now, I see mint 350LC are worth Ԛ£3,500 and a few weeks ago in MCN there was an RD500 and RG500 up for over 5 grand

I never had a RD500, but had LC's, YPVS's,2x NS400's and a RG500....and a few years later a (RU) EXUP...which ended up using more oil than the two strokes....!

Wez, when I had an LC they where plentiful and there wasnÔš't such a thing as an LC club....Chelsea Bridge was the nearest I got to an LC club, with the manic ride down to Heston Services after, towing everyone around the car park on the Little Chef food trays and wheelying about all over the place...flipped the bike in the petrol station one week, the slip road the following week...They crashed well!...Paddocks jackets and Doctor Martens didnÔš't offer much protection sliding down the road though..

At least once a month one of the bikes would blow up on the way home as well..

Those were the days!

Having said that im 37 now and still going to the same places and doing similar things..Bikes are great for not letting you grow up..

I have a Hayabusa now but itÔš's never going to be as exciting as the first "proper "bike after passing your test..LC's rule..

Sorry for hi jacking your thread Bootyman....At least itÔš's keeping it near the top....

Maybe another option then Bootyman......Sell the car, pass your test(Ԛ£400-Ԛ£500 direct access), Ԛ£700-Ԛ£800 on riding kit and buy a brand new GSXR1000...163rear wheel BHP and 166 Kilos in weight..Hows that for power to weight ratio?....all for 9K...

You know it makes sense!

dont do it booty. one thing ul prob never get the money you spent, secondly i think you could never part with her. Ive been there and its easy puttin it up for sale, but when the time comes its hard to see her go. You know that you have put all that hardwork into buidin it, and the satisfaction you get from drivin it i bet is worth every penny. What would you feel when you see someone else posing in her when it should be you.

i'm thinking you're thinking that the rieger is pretty much finished, or at least reached a "stage". you're just like any other modifier! the fun is in the project...

but DON'T sell it :P
'08 GSX-R750, '02 CBR600F, and a beast of a Focus 1.8LX...

The other day while washing my cab i decided to give the arches a good clean, so i jacked the car up and proceeded to clean, then to my horror the jack would not wind down!!! what to do??? how will i get it down to cruise? but luckily i am fortunate enough to own a sport as well, so thinking quickly i took the jack out of the sport, and jacked the cab up and then back down to terra firma, Thank God!!! so the moral of this story is never sell your second BMW or a you will one day find yourself in a similar sticky situation!

and no just buyiong a jack is not an option!

 Hey the moofles is back. Nice to see yuou on here again buddy. How's that turbo running on the motor???

I did contemplate buying a bike at one point but after having my 1st ride on the back of a friends a de-ristricted R1, i swore it will never happen. It was quiet simply the most scriest moment of my life

Anyway, i guess you're all right. For a start i'd only get a fraction of what it's cost me to build her and secondly, it will be very hard to watch someone else driving her around knowing i choose everything on her. Still might put it on e-bay for a laugh and see what kind of responce i get for her.

Mr Lee that was a very moving story. Have you though of writing a boot??
