i have a 1990 316i, has an aftermarket alarm, the car has not been used for 8 months and the battery is dead, jump started it its turning over but never wants to start, we looked for the alarm control box and disconnected all the wires from it and still dont start up, what could be the problem, there is petrol in the car but not checked sparks etc, the car was drivable before.helpp!

Basics first. Check for sparks at the plugs, and see if they get wet with petrol when you crank it over.
Could be lots of things - fuel pump quit, dirty relay contacts, corroded plug and socket, etc, etc. Also, your petrol in the tank will have deteriated over 8 months. A bit of fresh petrol mixed in wouldn't hurt.

The alarm may be an immobilizer as well - disconnecting it completely may stop the car starting all together - it did on mine. Try reconnecting and turning off the alarm
