... I've found out this morning that the bloody head gasket's gone on this one as well. Either that or the head itself has cracked.

Some of you'll remember this is the same 320 auto that I only bought to put me on while my iS was having the headgasket fixed.... which turned out to be a cracked head and unrepairable for me.

AAARRGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!

I only bought the f**cker because it had a recon head last March. I'm thinking seriously about writing it off as it's fully comp insured.

Absolutely fed up of paying out this month - gutted/ skint/ hating E30s at the moment

who said the heads don't go on 320's from the 731 "massive" lol

sorry to hear mate, buy a 318i next with a knackered noisey top end, tap, tap, tap M40 sh!tness!

Not having the best experience with these cars, my old 318is had 3 cylinder heads put on it in 3 years! not a bad average eh?!

Yeah, I'm getting all nostalgic for my old 318i. Sounded like a sowing machine but clocked up 25k and cost me nothing.

Just really gutted 'cause I'd never have touched it if it hadn't had the head done last year. Grrrrrr.

I'm not spending the dough mate - not worth it on such a dull car (no offence). It's another one for the breakers I think.

Well it's gonna be Ԛ£350 - Ԛ£400 if it's the gasket and double that for the head. That was the best quote I could find for the iS anyway and I don't suppose this will be much different 'cause it's the labour that bumps it up.

Daz,

Much appreciated mate, thanks. To be honest though the only way I can see that happening is if I can persuade my mate to do it on the (double) cheap. I'm not spending Ԛ£s on the car because it aint worth it. I still haven't got the boot lock sorted lol! At least I won't have to worry about that now. I'll let you know asap mate (and thanks again).

i think youll find youll prob get an engine etc fitted for less than most garages will charge to do the head etc

and if you can be arsed to get em to do it ya can swap pedal box etc and have it manual mate

would also sort out your boredom of the 320 auto lol
the 323 shifts nicely

drove it back from nottingham last year when i got it and i dnt remember dropping below the 100 until leeds city centre winkeye

see what ya can come up with mate
as i really dnt wanna scrap it the eng etc is far too good for that

but project has changed so its now just in the way
