hi fella's, just wanted to know really if a back box from a 1987 sport will fit a 1989 touring? The exhaust that i have aquired is a scorpion but i need to know if this baby will fit before i buy..... I know it depends on if i have a 2 or 3 peice system and all that but if anyone actually knows for sure that would be great! Im pretty sure mine is a 3 peice system on the touring but i dont know what a 1987 sport system is 2 0r 3.... please someone shed some light on the situation for me... thanks lads

if it's an 87 sport then it should be a 3 piece backbox but that doesn't mean the scorpion on there isn't a 2 piece.
U need to see pic's and know 100% what is on yours
oh scorpion back boxes have different straps to hold the silencer so make sure u get them too

thanks simon.... i know mine has a joint by the front wheels, one level with the diff so this would make it a three peice system? how different are the straps mate do you know..... are they expensive? are all sports 3 peice systems too simon?

no most late sports came with a 2 piece like my old one did.
So yours is a 3 piece then, but what about the scorpion?!
I'm not sure where u can get these straps, any exhaust place who is a scorpion dealer i expect, ebay, scorpion direct themselves?

even with a 2 pc system you can cut the rear box off and add a rear silencer to the existing midsection, its designed that way.
the scorpion boxes are bigger but you can use the std strap to secure if you get some longer bolts for the hanger asswy
