hello guys
got one for you, ive got a pair of T1-R's and T1-S's, what would you say is the best way to have them on the car...
eg. T1-R pair at front and T1-S at back or vice versa
i want good grip, but also wouldnt mind a bit of slip at the rear...

If it was me, I'd have the t1-r on the rear
a) they're likely to be newer and you're supposed to put the newest tyres on the rear
b) I think the t1-r looks like it has more channels cut in for water to escape? I may be wrong but if so and it's a better tyre in the wet against eg. aquaplaning then I'd want them on the rear
Of course if the t1-r are far more worn than the t1-s then I'd put them the other way round with the t1-s on the back
Out of interest, how do you rate the tyres overall and compares to each other, particularly in the wet?

well i got the t1-s fitted to the rears yesterday and t1-r remain at the front, t1-s are brand new and t1-r are about a month old, first impressions are really good, plenty of grip everywhere, in the dry that is, not had a chance to try in the wet.

Hi, don't know if this will help but I had a chat with a Toyo technical rep at the Autosport International show in January. He told me that the T1 R is the newer tyre and uses different technology to the S. The carcass is manufactured in a fully laden profile which is designed to put more tread on the road particularly when cornering. Both tyres were on the stand and the obvious difference is the T1 R has block treads on the outside edge and the tread depth appears to be greater. It was a nice soft compound too. im basicaly gonna try the t1-s and t1-r eacy way for a week, ill let you guys know how they compare.

wouldn't it make sense to put the newr more treaded tyre on the front as that axle does the most?? (Braking/steering)
To me.. having more tread in the ass end will push too much into corners rather than steering. It's easier to counter a tail flick than front end push ( over/understeer.. i forget which is which)

all of the tyres are new.
but i know what you mean, i personally prefer oversteer to understeer, but of course the best setups are neutral.
