((EXHAUST FLAME))
Moderator: martauto
i currently have a scorpion 3' straight through system which is full stainless steel and has rear and centre boxes, is there a way to make it flame like a turbo? with the removal of a box possibly, or anyone know of a method, as i dont want to buy a flame kit.

flamer kt is yout only option really unless you make your car over fuel and it will end up running like a pig

my mates m3 spits one if he changes hard on the red line between 3rd and 4th...only when he's going flat out though...seems to be runngin fine all other times
looks cool though
you need to:
Drill hole in the exhaust pipe nearer to the tip.. but not so near as to be able to see it.
Screw the sparkplug into the hole.
Wire a cable from battery + to spark plug via switch.
When you flames.. you flick teh switch. Only problem with this is, once it's on.. it stays on..
flame thrower anyone??

All S14 engines that are healthy will do this, i have managed to get mines to pop when i want. (but only when the whole car is really warm it will do it on 2-3 or 3-4)

My M3 shootes flames when its pulling hard , on a dark night round the Norfolk lanes I can see the road light up behind me as I change gear ! , from what I gather this is normal .

You need a flamer kit for a normal asperated engine.

You need a seperate coil so you can switch the spark from the one running your engine to one running the plug in your exhaust. When the coil is temporarily stopped in the engine the unburnt fuel will pass through your exhaust and be ignited by the one at the end (Wont work if you have a cat). Don't know if it is very good for your engine though as I reckon it could cause bore wash in the cylinders. Does look cool though....

yes you need a coil as well as a spark plug all actiavted from a switch in the cabin - but surely it would be better to have a separate feed from the fuel tank for the flames to enable the engine to continue running? so that if you're being tailgated you can give them the flames while pulling away? and then for safety would a non-return valve be required so that fire doesn't spread up to the fuel tank and make one look a little silly?
please 'enlighten' us someone who knows....

the spark and fuel injection in the exhaust manifold is normally associated with a turbo anti-lag system, the idea is it injects fuel into the manifold which is ignited when off the throttle to enable the tubro to keep spinning, only used really on rally cars and the reason for the extream backfiring.
wouldn't advise it on your road car unless you have a specially designed manifold.

this would have no effect whatsoever as a spark plug sparks on several thousand to ten thousand volts DC which is produced by the coil and hence why they are called HT leads high tension = high voltageWire a cable from battery + to spark plug via switch

im the daddy on the exhaust flames
i made my own network of wires one when i was 18 on my 1.1 shitter. flick the switch and it switches to the rear coil and earths through the distributor earth to give loads of sparks. pull out the choke and stamp on the throttle. the flame came up to the rear window
the best way to do it with the 2.5 (or similar) is to spend a little, and get a controlled unit that will make a constant spark, as u will find with the coil it will only spark once, and this time is when u connect the final wire to make the circuit. if u leave it on there it does nothing else.
then you will need to get a link pipe somewhere near the back box to join the two pipes together and the spark in the middle.
and then u will need a butane cannister wired to the exhaust.
the flame will shoot miles (feet in real terms)
completely illegal to switch it on, on public roads. perfectly fine in ur own property. (i think)
turbo cars overfuel to keep the turbo cooler apperently.so thats why they flame without a spark plug, they work better with one tho.
RX-7s are crazy fuel spurting monsters.
