Wiring loom

Can any body tell me how much of a job it is to replace the whole wiring loom on my 318i??

Its just that im stripping the old girl and me and my mate reckon that it looks a right mess like somebody's added abit there and diconected a bit here..... any clues??

How much is one these days aswell???

Whole wiring looms are reasonably easy to change on a stripped out car as long as all the seats, carpets and boot liner are out. Halp[s if the dash is out as well.
I've no idea how much they would cost from BMW, and I'm sure you don't really want to know either! There are plenty of perfectly good second hand ones around!
The main loom includes the fusebox and runs mainly down the left side of the car, with six excursions right across the car.
The engine loom is completely separate, there is a substantial seperate loom across behind the dash, a semi seerate one for the central locking and windows, and a few small ones going to one or two items.
On top of this there may be looms for accessories such as ABS, electric roof etc.
Note that cars with the roof mounted "check panel" have a different main loom.

Like Brian says they are easy to remove in one piece once the interior is stripped out, and if your looking for a replacement just pm me
