I think it should be law that everyone put their location details in their avatar section. This way it will eliminate the need to ask where people are located if you require parts or anything from them. It's quite annoying sometimes when people ask where you are, when it's right there in front of them... just because they don't display their details...

Good idea...? Or a bad one?

Good idea. The number of people I've seen ask, "Where ya from mate?" when it's written right in front of them really gets on my tits but then I'm generally very intolerant of stupid people anyway!

Only good if people either a) know WHAT the Theatre of Dreams is and b) know WHERE it is!

I'm assuming it's something to do with kicking pigs bladders around on the grass at lunchtimes...

it's usually london people who don't like revealing where they live, if u ask

"north west london mate" ok.........

suspicious people!

it's easy to enforce by making it a mandatory bit of data u have to fill in on signing up?!

It's definitely a good idea. I even put down the postcode (E10) so you know that you can look it up if you want to collect something or to help you price when you are thinking of posting something.

Of course, anybody can of course make-up a location and post code winkeye

Excellent idea, but i guess some people don't want to be too specific.

As in, I've got a lovely M3 it's parked at XYZ and I'm away at work all day... hey where's my M3 gone.................

Ummmmm Pitsea! I used to live in Billericay, and work in Basildump....

As long as you put a general area in, that should help cut down on the pointless threads (without compromising security). Maybe make it a mandatory field when joining?
