Thanks mate, you new toy looks awesome too, are they the original cecotto wheels?

Are you planning on doing anything to it or keep it standard?

As far as the spoiler goes, its been on about 3 months now, i thought i would get used to it but i havent, as soon as i can afford an evo sport flap it will be coming streight off and back in the shed :D

Cheers, yeah original alloys!!

Engine is tuned a little already, has Koni Adjustables and front strut brace!

Gettin on for 260 bhp, but goin to BBR soon to have the chip mapped and sh*t!

Gonna keep it looking original for now! I have some 18" Multispokes to go on in the summer! Think that`ll be about it!!

Then Just enjoy drivin her!

That spoiler can`t be much help when lookin in rear view mirror??? :)

260!! thats impressive! What work has been done to get that? Making mine faster is the one of the only things left on my list of things to do to it.

As far as looking out the rear view mirror goes - thats a non starter. There could be a naked lesbian pillow fight going on right behind me and i would be none the wiser!

Those wheels go for a fortune on ebay so if you ever wanted to change them you could do a streight swap with nearly any other wheel out there including all the bbs splitties.

LOL, sweet!

Previous Owners estimate :

Port and polished head
BBR chip ~ BBR say that this chip can get it there?
think its an EVO II 4 branch manifold with supersprint exhaust

I'd take those estimates with a pinch of salt!

If I'm correct, evo II manifold makes no difference, just the fact it splits in the middle, and all E30 M3's have a tubular branched manifold.

Ben, did you get in touch with John about the flap he had?

I sent a pm but no reply. I think there may be a problem with my pm, iv sent a few recently that dont seem to have got there.

Also, am i wrong in thinking that the cecotto had 48mm tb's and the evo 2 had 46mm? I got that from Markus on s14.net, he knows his stuff but im not sure if this is correct??

Yes, that's right, cecotto came out at the same time as the new 215bhp models, and was the first car iirc to have the 215 engine with the 48mm throttle bodies, where as the evo II was still being made with 46mm, evo II is still regarded as the best version to have though!

Yea thats what i thought. I guess it means that its easier to tune the cecotto engine though, you can put the larger carbon airbox on. I dont know what difference the 2mm will really make though!

yes i have a flap for sale if interested
vgc

nice lookin car.love the rims had them on a red evo 2 i had.

o/t but im glad you found one reedy.you did well to wait for the right one
yes evo2 had 46mm throttle bodies but there is a difference on the head where they meet and the set up is different to the early cars that had 46mm

simon is right about the manifold
its a 2 piece tubular but no real gains

imho i dont think 260hp is attainable with those mods.do you know who did the head work?

remap will give small gains but improve throttle response and driveability more than anything without extensive work or doing away with afm

contrary to popular belief tho the ceccotto was very simialr to the evo2 in the way it looked mechanically it was different

its nice to see more and more m3s

Very nice looking car, previous owners guesstimates are usually fairly commical.

I think it'll be producing around 220-230bhp, bearing in mind the age of the car. I hope its more when you put it on the rollars :D

Lovely looking motor, wish I could afford one.

i am sure the 380 brake version was teh s42 lump used in the late touring cars

Twat Head

You drive the car, surely you noticed its not anywhere near the "estimated" figure. Surely you did some research based on what other people are running. Before going on a Forum and then saying "getting on for 260" Oh no wait...

As mentioned elsewhere Daryls (beautiful M3) is 260 ish after a 2.5, Cams, Port, AN kit + Inlet, and a chip.

So all will be revealed then!

Once again sorry!! i`m sure your not a twat head!

:clin: That's an awesome looking car! And looks to be in really good shape too! :thumb:  I think I've seen a similar doorbuild on a German M3 Cab @ E30.de, looked actually nearly exactly the same. They fit really nicely into that interior.
