Right decided Im going to renew my ICV. The idle hunts and isn't the best. So i went down to my local bmw dealership and got the guy to see if he could get it. He reckons it will cost Ԛ£123! Plus he called it the idle regulating valve. Is this the same part and where can i get one at a better price? Thanks in advance.

hi mate, i have an idle air control valve for sale, it will fit a 320i or 325i,
it's a bosch part number: 0280140524.
i've put it on ebay, so if you are interested just go to www.ebay.co.uk
and then enter this item number under the search: 4615013917.
you could have for maybe less then a tenner.

you need a ICV from either a M40 or M42 engine, the M20 will not work.hammoj28 wrote:hehe, whoops. Sorry bout that. Thats a very good point. Its a 318is. The m42 engine.

I have a ICV from a m40. It was slightly irratic at times, so i bought one off smithy, but this did the same problem. Then the engine just sorted itself out! Si i guess the m40 one i have was fine after all. Yours for a tenner posted if you want it?

Hi,
Ok, hope you have luck in finding one. They are common and easy to fit.

Try cleaning it out first. Remove it (its behined the bulk head) and fill it up wirh carb cleaner a few times holding you finger over one end, and shaking it.AndersLS wrote:Hello guys...I have been following this thread a bit.
