Bought my car with RD kit on, but not so crazy off that kit so took it off.

In the interior I have the wooden parts en gearshift and had the steering wheel on it.
Had the badges on the back too but they was in bad shape.

Pitty the front bumper wasn't on the car.

you should have sourced a front bumper and got the arse down an some new wheels would have been nice in my opinion!

Sorry to offend but I don't see what the appeal is with the wheels...!

Other than that though the rocker cover looks the dogs as does Simon's manifold...

i feel the same about the wheels; well i did; i had them on my car an quickly went off them. but every time i looked out my window they grew on me. paint up with a polished lip an they wud look lush i rekon

no worries jim i now have hartges winkeye :wink:

picked up the manifold yesterday, it's on the SE the noises it makes are truly sexual!

In it's new engine bay! i need the badge,wheels and to lower it with an iS lip, will be half decent looking then!

Only ever heard of it, never seen any actual pics!

But it looks like they have fitted it to a Kjet early model, wonder how much power it was pushing out? (Dont say 100bhp per l)

That engine bay does NOT picture the 24V head. Its the normal 12v BMW casting with a RD valve cover on it.

WOW! i wonder how many people actually bought those conversions.

In my mins that is the ultimate M20, would have to be 2.7 too of course

What i don;t understand is i have a RD sales book from 1989 and this 24v conversion is not in it?! Anyone

I know of a total of 7 of these heads that were actually cast.

To the best of my knowledge none were actually sold.

Pricing figures are unavailable, but they never sold because right as they came out so did the M3. The M3 was obviously better value and people went with that.

The RD 24V head might as well be a fairy tail, no one will ever get one.

I'd like to know where the molds are though.

probably no one. that head in the picture is probably on a shelf gathering dust somewhere(or been thrown in the bin). probably just a one off cast for marketing purposes. would have cost to much to develop.

although if these heads where attached to crome turds then they have been cubed along time ago. :o

it's good to talk about though

i wonder were the development engine went. It's a shame RD can't orgainise a p!ss up in a brewery

was this offered for 2.5's or 2.7's. Any power ratings? 250bhp for a 2.5 then?

The head could be fitted to any bottom end... 2.0 - 3.1L

Properly shaped pistons would be required to take full advantage of the chambers.

You could likely use stock S50 pistons.

Whats not pictured is all the front engine covers etc. It is all converted to a chain driven cam(s) with covers to enclose in oil. I have NO IDEA what was done with the water pump. The crank is also fitted with a toothed gear rather then the belt sproket.

250bhp from an m20. no way(not for a road car anyways), even with this strange head.

m50 was in development as a complete engine at that time aswell i would have thought. thats 190bhp even with 24valves from the 2.5 m50.

250bhp is fairly "easy" to obtain on a ported 12v head with a 2.8L bottom end...

3.1L can make 260+ hp as well.

The flow #'s of a m20 head compared to a m50 head (stock for stock) are embarassing.

100bhp/litre is attainable. Hell my 2.8 is generating 83.21bhp/litre.
