Mornin' all!

Just joined this site as it looks the biggest and best 8)

I've recently parted with my much loved Mk1 Golf 2.0 16v...

More pics here!

Although the plan was to stay without a car for the next year or so, I can't handle not having one, and I've always loved E30's... A mates offered me a basic 318i for Ԛ£150 :D How could I say no?!

Welcome, nice golf, just done the same myself mate got myself a 318is, the e30s are a bit more refined than the golf, all though i miss the noise the gti made and the low down torque of the 8v hope you enjoy your e30 as much as i am.

Cheers for the welcome people!

Yeah, another reason I'm onto BMW now is comfort!

My Golf was totally stripped of everything and ridiculously loud!!!

I sold the Golf as I was spending far too much money on it!! And it was far from Perfect... The plan was not to get another car to spend money on, but now I think it's inevitable!!!

I'm sure I'll have loads of questions when I pick the thing up, and it won't be long until it's demand for money is growing!!

not just yet... Am hopefully picking one up on the weekend.. Just a 318i... Although if it all falls through, I can see myself getting carried away and picking up a 325!!! I sold the golf to get a cheaper car!!! Mind you, I did spend about Ԛ£4k on it in about 16 months, so anything cheaper than that is a good sign! lol

Welcome to the Zone mate!

Golf's and E30's seem to be the only cars id like to go to and from in.

A good choice getting an E30, and even better choice in choosing to join the BEST e30 website out there.

I will say though that if your used to a bit of power then save yourself the hassle and money and get a 325i NOW! You know it makes sense!

All the best in whatever you decide![/i]

Aigh.. I did think that.. The Golf did used to go some bearing in mind it was totally stripped and was about 150bhp.. Think I'd suffer if I'd go onto something around the 100hp mark which weighs twice as much!

Hmmm... Reckon I could pick up a livable decent 325 for Ԛ£1k?? Or is that asking a bit too much?

Welcome to another Zoner !

you had to post up pix of a black slammed Mk1, still regret selling mine, had it 7 years

318 sounds cheap, but if the shell is solid and relativly rust free ( are they ever ?? ) you can always swop in a bigger engine and gubbins at a date, RWD brings a lot of tasty options for transplants M8

Welcome to the 'Zone' mate - shame the Golf had to go but i'm sure you'll find a fitting replacment for her here, go for a 325i if you have the chance, "Zaust" had a Dolpin Grey 325i sport for sale not long ago - not sure if it's still for sale or sold yet??? I remember it being around the 2k mark.

Hopfully see you around at an up and coming meet in the near future?

Neil.

Welcome on board mate, I had a Mk2 16v GTI before the beemer and have to say the beemer is more refined, quiter, more comfortable. Not as involving to drive as the golf and a fair bit rusty'er but a nice motor to own either way. Good luck with what ever you get, I think its fair to say with any German car you cant go far wrong :thumb:

i'm loving the pic's of these mk1's mucho respect, both look spot on

1k can buy u a good e30 with any of the engines available, but be warned alot will be sheds in the price bracket. There will a few shining stars though, finding them is the fun!

Decide on what u want first i would suggest, engine size,2dr,touring, early chrome bumper etc. There is a massive amount of choice and styles to chose from
