Ok so I thought instead of asking questions progressivley as I tackle jobs, I'd as them all at once and keep then on my pc for later reference. Ok so here goes...

1) My rear subframe bushes are worn, is there a guide out there to replace them and what tools am I going to need.

2) I recently serviced my car and now is a slight whine at idle which goes away when warm, it's also more clearly heard if i quickly rev it in neutral to just above 2000rpm, I oiled the throttle cable and mechanism just to check it wasn't that. The sound is only there for a second before going quiet again

3) Idle seems really lumpy still after doing a service and replacing the blue pin thermostat sensor, but I haven't let the e30zone chip settle in properly yet and the exhaust is still blowing which will more than likely rectify this problem when fixed.

4) The disks (drilled and grooved) and pads (EBC greenstuff) are almost brand new but grind like crazy and braking is terrible. All supplied by previous owner and then fitted by a garage.

5) N/S/F Balljoint is going and is very prominant when going over 60mph, is it safe to drive with it in bad condition and how easy is it to replace? When I'm doing the ball joint I'm also going to do the dampers, springs and top mounts is there anything else (cheap!) worth doing with the suspension all dismantled.

6) I replaced the older spark plugs (Denzo's) with some NGK's BRP6E5 (I think :) ) but the HT leads don't connect tightly and I'm worried if I go over some speed bumps I'll loose a couple of cylinder's worth of power.

I'll post more if I think of any... I hate asking loads of questions without contributing, but with more knoweldge I should be able to give back to other new owners when they ask questions.

Edit: I also forgot that the windscreen wipers only work on the slowest speed and when spraying with screenwash, medium and higher don't work at all! Also bump!

1,Get someone else to do them,they are a bast4rd to do,trust me i know!
Expect tp pay Ԛ£100-Ԛ£200

2.and 3,Air leak sounds likely!

4,Jack up each corner and spin the wheel, once you find the guilty one, strip down and investigate.

5,Drop links, wishbone bushes if they are worn.

6,Did you unscrew the little caps from the end of the spark plug?

1) its a lot better to get a garage to do it, but... Click on Link

2)check your belts for slipping.

3) the chip only takes 10 minutes (and fix the zorst)

4) Probably are not bedded in yet.

5) No. dont know, paint it all

6) duno. replace leads or plugs. (or dont and see what happens)

axle bushes are a doddle mate
took mine out last week in about 10mins

just drop back axle and heat around the bush then get a 30mm plus socket and knock em out with that and a big hammer

i always thort these were a nightmare but turns out with a little heat theyre a doddle

failing that i have an axle with brand new bushes fitted if your interested

trailing arm bushes need to have more heat to get em out but arent to bad either
heat em up and get a long bolt with a washer on put it thru middle of bush then hammer out
the more heat the easier they are to get out

hope that helps

All advice taken in to account. Thanks for your useful information :). As for the spark plugs you are prob correct, I'm mechanically retarded :). Air leak could be right seems to be coming fround round airbox.

Thank you all!
