too hard/involved to explain this topic mate, the roof and windows are all adjustable. spend 25quid on a Bentley manual as it is well explained and pictures are good. plus the manual will save its cost in a few DIY jobs around the car, it should be compulsory reading for anyone with an E30!
zone shop sells em, so does amazon.

Bentley's it is then....& yup Dave did know/read about the thread last week...you got as far as teasing us by saying the roofline adjustment was dead easy but then didn't say how...
Also think door alignment may need adjustment a tad which may well fix things...seems to be tilted outwards at the top ...guess this is done by adjusting at the hinge bolts....unless anyone tells me different???

if the door closes on the latch ok, then it won't be the hinges now will it
the glass can be adjusted 'easily' but you need diagrams = Bentleys

Also got a leak at the top of the quarter light (Have checked the seal and looks ok) and door panel looks to be out of alignment at the front top end with the wing...m-tech kit fitted in the past by previous owner...it looks to have been rubbing at one point but isn't now so my guess is the door was mal-adjusted to sort this rather than adjust the kit...unfortunately not in a position to ask the guy as the bastard sold the car with a cracked cylinder head (nice surprise that was...mechanic at local specialists said recent coolant flush so would've been dif to see without the dreaded leak-down test being done as no mayo to see)
not exactly on best terms with him
.....and no the car hasn't been bent at any point...

The quarter seal might need replacement...its a common fault but has been known to be cured with a coating of silicone grease which allows it to expand..
The window is adjusted by 3 nuts on the runners..you have to take the inside off..not too difficult
as to adjusting the roof line it is a combination of getting the front window level and ,,if you look on the pram hood in each rear quarter,,,you will see a rubber plug on one of the joints..take this out and you will see an allen key socket ,,,place allen key in it and turn ..in raises the roof line ..out lowers it..i think they generally sag over time...but be gentle
best of luck
