When I put the first head on my car last summer this little pipe on the thermo housing snapped off when I touched it. I used some very high strength steel resin to put it back on and it was fine until the head went bang.
I had a look at it today as I'll be fitting everything back onto the new engine but the resin has cracked a little.
Should I just buy another thermo housing and be safe or would it be ok you reckon to bond it up again?

TBH mate, if it was me Id get another. If its cracked once it may crack again. And I wouldnt want to take a chance when it comes to M20 cooling - dont want another knackered head :(

Another one can't be that expensive, and a part like that as long as you have a new gasket I don't see anyproblem with using one off a parts car or from the scrappy, just give it a good clean.

Yeah was thinking the same. Will see if anyone here has one lying around. If not I'll buy a new one.

They do corrode if coolant changes are neglected, so check a scrappy one carefully.
