I don't know if this has been asked before but,

Is it still possible to get a E30 body shell? :(

And if so how much do you think it would cost? :?

I've got a 2005 TEK which shows 2 & 4 door body shells but there is no price for either.
I presume this means they are no longer available, but knowing the zone someone will tell you where you can still get them!!!!!!!!

I will have a shell for sale soon, non sunroof version too, so its lighter and most probably stronger. Its 2 door as well, good for a track day car too. Based in Kent if interested?

Can guarantee some guy, somewhere in the country has one for a project he never started.

Will come to light in about 50 years when his relations find it in the garage hidden in the undergrowth, at the bottom of the garden.

By then there won't be enough parts around for it to be any use!

I've seen pictures of several brand new e30 shells. One was a M3, the other a 4dr non-M. I've got the pictures laying around somewhere if anyone wants to see them.

Wison325i ain't looking for pics, he's looking for the metal.

Just had a thought, there may be some shells left in a dark corner of a Munich warehouse.

Who speaks German and is volunteering to give them a bell?

on a serious note,
there must be a few completly brand new e30 shells about some where?
rekon they would be xpensive though 8O
it may be cheaper to get a really good shell and get it sand blasted and treated or galvanised, just as good if you want to go the whole hog

I bet you will find that there is a stash of 3-4 various shells still in bubble wrap in the corner of a warehous in Germany. They will either belong to BM or a dealerhip and be forgotten about, or they will belong to the BMW traditions department for when they have to reshell one of the historically significant cars. If you can still get all the body pannels though it wouldn't surprise me if BMW stored a few when the line stopped cos a car produced in '93 could have been reshelled in an insurance deal up to '99 is or longer if it was M3 or Alpina etc

yer but its just getting a new shell, its finding somewhere to keep it/ work on it, you need to move it some how, who is going to paint it and are they going to do a good job (as good as bmw did all them years back)
then you are going to need lots of time and money to do it, its not a 5 min job, i started to reshell a car,and i got feed up with it and sold it, all i can say its harder than you think, its not just take 1 apart put it back on the new 1, things get lost, snap, so on
to do it you would need the 2 cars next to each other and take your time by then you will get feed up with it,
i would sat just look for a mint E30, there is still some about, i got a 320is from the scrap yard and the shell is mint, and my last sport wasnt far off mint,

If you did get a new shell for a few thousand it would be worth protecting your investment buy spending say another grand having it acid dipped then galvanised. Then the painting only has to look good.

you mean a zink coating, the shell would come with a electricoat but that isnt good enough, it would need sealer on the joins, undersealing so on so on,

Starting with a new shell is basically the same as repairing an old one - there is just a lot more of it. Don't see that painting would be much of a problem as it's only the exterior panels that get the full treatment. You would have the advantage of rustproofing every square inch of the shell with something like Waxoil.

But I would be more concerned with what you would fit into it; ie spend several thousand Ԛ£Ã”šÃ‚£Ãƒ”šÃ‚£s on a shell and then fit 15 year old main loom?

A project for a bottomless pocket, methinks!
