Alpinweiss II Build Thread
Moderator: martauto
Time for some update.
On a whim, in late 2021 I removed tons of the engine bay items, which the hopes of renovating the bay. Then I lost interest and the car just sat for almost two years - I even contemplated just selling it as I lost interest. I mean it's a 169k car with 11 owners... I even bought an E31 in preparation for leaving the E30 scene - but the wife stepped in and said only one care at a time. I couldn't get rid of the E30, so the E31 went and in a moment of madness, I decided that I'm going to rebuild the E30 to be one of the best on the road today.
After 120 hours of welding and fabrication, I'm happy to report that stage 1 is complete.
Here's a sample of what was lurking underneath.

Refurbish program in full pace...
You can never have enough goodies, can you? #BTB3
Now this one I'm too terrified to even fit on the car.
Parts restoration continues courtesy of the amazing Sam Calver at https://www.cclassics.com.
It’s coming along alright.
There's light at the end of the (transmission) tunnel
Have you seen anything as good looking as this on an E30 before?
Indeed it’s all the way from the master himself, Jordan Sarette. I was lucky as a colleague of mine was coming from the states who kindly agreed to bring it back with him.

Looking great dude. Is that a new washer bottle? Does it have a level sensor hole in the side? I ordered what I thought was a standard one and it turned up with this big hole in it. I havent got around to sorting it yet but it's on my to do list to find a nice way to seal it up and get it fitted to the car.
Thanks.rix313 wrote: ↑Mon Nov 25, 2024 9:34 pmLooking great dude. Is that a new washer bottle? Does it have a level sensor hole in the side? Only a single hole on the side for the motor. See https://www.pelicanparts.com/More_Info/ ... 0&DID=7750
Underside and engine bay p0rn...
Coming soon...
Getting there. Restoration is slow business, especially if anything but perfection will have to do.
This time it's the interior's turn.
