Hello forum members, Im new user in here!

I have a project E30 that I recently swapped from m40 to m20b20. Working great with stock engine and ecu. I have plans to covert this to speeduino ECU bcs im intrested in ecu tuning and I like to be in control and see what is happening. I already have assembled my pnp speeduino ecu and Im only missing wideband lambda and tps adapter in hardware side.
Im looking for stock m20b20 ecu ignition advance maps to convert to tunerstudio 16x16 spark map to get approximately the stock advance to not loose too much power before dyno.
Plan is to turbo the engine some point but I want to convert the ecu first.

Pic of the beauty for reference.

I would suggest buying a Willem or similar EPROM programmer from E-bay, which will allow you to be able to read your own ECU EPROM.

You could also ask on TunerPro forum. https://www.tunerpro.net/

Okay so I checked these alredy build programmers and in my case I would have to spend around 100€ to get one of these semi ancient programmers. I showed these to my friend that prays for the name of STM32 chips and he literally spitted on top of these 100€ programmers. He said that just get a NUCLEO-F446RE board and make adapter pcb to fit ZIP socket in there to get the data out of the chip. This DIY build also would cost just like 50€.
So I think I will order some parts and get back to you guys after I have something to show you. I also checked the tunerpro software and looks like I can use that with some XDF file I also found that should work once I just manage to puke out a .bin file from my chip. winkeye

Yes, of course, you can make your own EPROM reader if you're proficient enough in electronics. IIRC, I only paid around £30 for my Willem gear but that was some years ago now. If you get stuck, I probably have a stock M20B20 file somewhere...
