So if it was me I would heat up the white part in boiling water, then slowly press them together in a vice (if you have one big enough) or G-clamp. Slow pressure is the key here, hitting it with a hammer will just bounce and break.
Out of interest where did you get the new bits? Curious to see how you get on with them as I need to do mine.

Good idea, thanks. That was my worry with the mallet. I got all the little pieces and 1 lens from Schmeidman and the other 3 lenses new old stock from ebay, what a pain that was sourcing lol.
