This is one of the most impressive pieces of engineering ever !!!!
It was erected in 1779 and has never been under major restoration since day one.
Cast at the foundries ( ?? ) of Abraham Derby in what was to take his name "Ironbridge" or then ?Coalbrooke dDle and used mortice and tennon joints cast into pieces that make the bridge.
Maybe he let the Victorians into a secret or two ?
