Hey all,

Just after some quick advise.
My 318is is in need an exhaust, whats my best option. Not sure many still making?, is Fritz's Bits worth the money?

Or is just worth going to a reputable custom exhaust specialist and just have something made up?

Thanks in advance,
Nick

I went to an exhaust specialist so he could have a look at its set up before ordering one. They can give you options on how expensive you want to go. Exhaust manufacturers still supply exhausts for these cars but there is a danger of ordering the wrong one. Exhaust specialists do not fit many e30 exhausts so useful to let them see how its set up so they can get it done quicky. I found they are no more expensive than exhaust centres. The lad I went to here in Ireland is only about 30 miles away from me luckily enough and he has customers all over the country, mostly young lads with every sort of tin can.

AFAIK Fritz has stopped doing exhausts, unless they have found someone else to build them since I spoke to them last. They weren't the best but did the job.

Ah, okay.
So, custom best bet? Anyone know a reputable custom exhaust company Kent way?

Thanks again,
Nick

Have you looked at Zero Exhausts in Ashford? I think they have done some E30s in the past (I think they did someone's M30 on here)

On the contrary, my experience of them is they are very very nicely made and I can't work out how he was able to make and sell them for £675.

I admit I have no experience of their 4-banger exhausts but the ones I have had/seen for M20 and M5X did not perform or last that well. For what the extra used to be and the cost of other work on the engines BTB was better made and actually performed.

BTB are a lot more now, but I don't think you can get Fritz any more so guess it is a pointless discussion these days. Like I say they looked OK, filled a hole and did the job. :thumb:

That is probably one of the reasons why I heard they fell out with the people making the exhausts for them.
