Hi guys. Need the best approach to deal with this, also I am on East London if anyone knows reputable welders who can do the job

Recently picked up this e30, heap of rust.. not sure where or how to begin.

Is it still possible to buy replacements outer arches?

Some things to think about, more thinking before you start the better the job will be.

There will be more rust than is obvious, there always is, really good poke with a screwdriver in all the obvious places and magnet for the filler from old bodge repairs. Get an idea what you are in to.

I see too much of people cutting out masses of good old metal to replace it with a full repair panel of cheap metal. Moderm panels are cheap and thin. OEM are not much better. If you can't get OEM stick to Valcas or E30 Garage Norway if you can. Sometimes it needs full panels most time it does not. Only cut what you need. From that photo a good bodyshop could do that from sheet steel.

If you are going to build it as a facelft then now is the time to decide. Rear inner and outer arches are different on the facelift (lower) Even with the rust changing will be a lot of extra work and expense to do the change right enough that am Mtec 2 kit fits..

You have an early pre-facelift that there are not many left you may regret it. Does not bother me so much as the more that are butchered the rarer mine becomes :D

Have a word with the lads at Just E30z Barking, they should know some good places round your way.

Have a look at this lad, he has done a lot of good work from scratch.
