Hi guys... one of my rear shocks has a slight leak so I'm going to be replacing both rear shocks over the next month or so. While I'm in there I'll be doing the shock mounts and mounting hardware etc as well.

However, I think I'm going to stick with the springs that are currently in there... as long as they look in good condition can you see any potential problems with this?

I really like the ride height of the car as it is. It looks somewhere between stock and lowered which I assume is because the springs have sagged over the years, so I don't want to put in new oem spec springs and suddenly raise the rear of the car!

If the springs are good then it will not be a problem, but if they have sagged then they are not in good condition,

There are many different ride heights available, just get some new springs with the ride height you like.

Most popular in decending order of ride height, STD, OEM Mtech, Eibach, H&R, plenty of pics of cars on each of these out on the web :thumb:

OK cool, thanks for your thoughts! I think OEM Mtech springs would be what I'm after...

Well, for now I'm just going to do the rear shocks as it's all I have time/money to do! But probably a full suspension overhaul inc. my front shocks and all springs is on the cards

Out of interest - any idea if you can still buy the Mtech springs new from BMW or will I be looking for some second hand ones?

Not sure TBH, lot of stuff has gone NLA. Might be worth sending Cotswolds a message and they can look at it for you.

I am not a fan of lowered cars by any means but I tend to go for the Eibach ride height, the B12 kit is tried and tested and sometimes you can pick that up for sensible money online.
