My heater fans only worrk on no4 so I went out today and got new resistor and plug it it it worked on no2 for few mins then went off ai waited for bit and it cam back on then off and hasn't come back on any ideas what else to look at. Ould it be the fan it's self

Yes it probably will need cleaning and oiling up,have a look in the "Wiki", I think there is something in there about it.

Before it take it all apart would you guys just buy new rather than try fix

If it is a genuine one may be worth trying to clean it and see but if it has already been replaced with a cheap one, (why it might have failed in the first place) no point in trying to fix, just get another.

Be aware there are different ones for cars with AC that do not fit the ones without.

If it still turns then a bit of lubrication will get it nearly as good as new.

OK didn't manage to take pics but it's possibley fixed,
I removed the cover in the engine bay, then removed the plastic fan cover, then trust wd40 and run the fan for ten mins and all seems ok

Three in one oil works better and lasts longer :)

OK my blower stopped again so I bought a new one but my heater is still intermittent any other ideas

OK it clunks when I switch it on full power Nd the fuel gauge moves a bit

Sounds like a wiring or earthing problem. Did you bench-test the old motor and the new motor together before fitting?
