Hello

Long shot but has anyone got a complete set of genuine 16” 4x100 Alpinas they want to part with?

Cheers

Thanks mate. He’s posted them on the bay. Wants £3k a set :o:

I think I may have got a set for considerably cheaper.

2800 without caps 3500 with 8O (good luck finding caps) mind you it as been a while since I have seen a set of square for less than 2K and staggered for less than 2.5K. If it is the guy I am thinking of he does a lot with Alpina wheels and Lepsons do his work. (more so now they have opened a place up near him) Their work is top notch but they are not the cheapest so not too far off in reality for wheels done to a good standard.

How set are you on originals? There are some pretty good 16" replicas made now, TUV approved AFAIK too. made by Maxilite (not the 17" BK crap) You can spot the difference but only if you really know the originals. 99% would not see the difference.

I am tempted by a set to run on when mine goes back on the road, keep the originals for special days and hopefully a time when they fill the pot-holes. Current price for replacement of a bent wheel is making me consider alternatives.

Porker crowd seem to rate their Fuchs reps for same reasons

I think, and don’t quote me on this.. you can still buy the centre caps from Alpina. Takes about 10 weeks to come through but I think they’re still getable.

But yeah there’s no chance I’m spending £2800 on a set of bare alloys. Once you’ve put tyres on them and got centre caps, you’re not getting much change from £5k. I don’t care how inflated E30 parts prices are nowadays, that’s just absurd!!

I was looking at replicas, but if Barry (bss), pacer, Simon et al. found out, I’d be a E30 leper! I don’t know a lot about reps tbh. I’ve seen some good looking Italian ones on eBay for like £600.

I think the caps have gone NLA, I tried to get a spare last year, they may have come back but they were NLA when I checked. They had gone from places like AWD and FMW although all the bits like locks, seals and badges etc are still available. While I could I got a full set of badges and seals all in little Alpina bags.

If any of that lot say anything tell them to put their money where their mouth is and supply a spare at reasonable money when you pot-hole the near-side front. :duck: None of them shown up here for years now anyway although I have seen Simon and Barry lurking on the 'pina forum, Pacer still lists bits of his hoard on ebay at fully E30 taxed prices :D

These Maxillites are a world away from the old Burger-Kings, like I say Porker-drivers get away with them on their 911s so good enough for any E30. Sensible money and replaceable.

Other problem you will find is tyres if you want the correct staggered sizes you will need to have different makes front and rear or a complete set of Asian ditch-finders, none of which look good on a pristine set of Lepsons-done staggered Alpinas.

I think you will struggle when people like Mr S are on the hunt. paying strong money. Have you tried the Brum lads (BMW-MAD) they have had a few Alpinas through over the years?

For the price it really is a no-brainer
If your car is on it`s way to six figures and you never drive it and keep it in a temp controlled room then OK, I get it, .sort of.
These have got to be worth a punt...........99.99999% of people will love the car with them on...........if you care what they think.

Mart.
Only the E46 cab left now.
Just got too old.
