E34 sump modification required to fit s50 b32

Hi all, i have acquired a sump swap kit off an e34 with oil pick up and dipstick tube to fit my s50 b32.
I got a couple of questions im hoping you can help me with-
1. My s50 sump has an oil pipe fitting for the oil separator return pipe, and the e34 sump does not, whats the best way to get around this/how and where to fit a pipe inlet?
2. Do i need a different oil pump for the e34 pick up to fit my s50? Or will it bolt on in place of the s50 pick up?
3. Do i really need a baffle for road use? And if so does anybody have any suggestions?
4. What do i do with the windage tray on my e34 sump? Do i have to use the windage tray off the s50 sump and modify it to fit my e34 sump?
5. Do i need to remove sump material to clear the flywheel or any other components?
I honestly in my stupidity thought it was a straight swap, and am seriously considering keeping my s50 sump and changing the subframe. But am in two minds.

The S50B32 has a dual pick up with a front and rear sump. The M52 only has the front sump and will need a sump pickup making. There is an OEM part for the M54 conversion but I am not sure about the S50, Try messaging DanThe as I am sure he has done S50B32 swaps.
There is another alternative that keeps the S50 dual sump. It is not cheap but it does the job fairly well and can help with a 5-stud conversion and in theory keep proper steering geometry (although IMHO it will still be a bit off) Have a look here :

Also what do you think of this? Not sure i like the extra bits welded on to the anti roll bar like that.

I know haha thats what i thought. That thing looks like it would snap if you gave it a hard time. That bmp subframe looks good but seeing as i have the e34 sump, id much rather get it to fit, im sure plenty have done it, ive pm'd danthe. You need an E34/E36 M50 oil pump which is the same as an S50B30 oil pump. Ideally a new one, but always get a used one checked over before use, this bolts on and works with the parts you have
The large aluminium plate in rear of your sump will need removing as it will not clear the crank, you dont need any extra baffle plates for a road car, the sump already has one in the front bowl around the oil pickup. There are stories on the net about how an E34 sump will cause oil starvation and weak oil pump shafts, its all nonsense generally spouted by people that want to sell you something you dont need. There are hundreds of E30's using this setup and have been for 20 odd years now, fit an oil pressure and temperature gauge and then you can see what is going on

This was what i was hoping to hear from somebody with so much experience.I'll get myself a new oil pump as you said and do the big end shells whilst im in there. What do you do about this pipe? im assuming ive got to add one to my e34 sump right?

ARP bolts in the big ends is also a must
You just drill and tap the e34 sump and add that fitting, its the drain from the oil separator, or you can weld a similar sized spigot to the dipstick tube for it to drain into

Thats gunna be a very thin bit of material for a thread. I better not get it wrong then. I'll pick up the arp bolts too then great shout. Also, does the power steering pump bolt fit straight in there? as this thread is around about the same place as on the s50 sump.

Got the sump all ready now, thought id post a picture as im proud of how shiny i got it all after many hours. Its just on loose for now while i do the bottom end...

Also its good to mention that you have to use the s50 oil pump gear on the e34 oil pump. The e34 pump gear is too small to keep the s50 chain guide in the right place.

Thanks mart, was lucky enough to find arp2000 bolts on the big ends too! I just gotta check that pipe outlet is ok where it is, because i havw the accumilator and filter housing to fit in that area.
