My pump is giving up, bridging the relay sends power to the pump, but if the car hasn't been started for a few hours, the pump doesn't run, once it starts, you can turn the engine off and it starts up straight away.

I need to get hold of a replacement pump pretty quick, it's for an 89 325i (in tank), so discounting VDO as they're £400+, where is the best place to pick up a Bosch, which I can solder in?

Not sure if you got this sorted already or not... however I picked up a new Bosch pump from www.schmiedmann.com

It will be sent from Germany so you have to pay relatively high shipping costs now, however it arrived v qucikly with no problems and is working a treat in my car
