I managed to source a new old stock Bosch 3.0 bar FPR recently for a very good price, and fitted it.
Since then I've suffered with hesitation whilst driving, so swapped the old one back and that seems to have cured the issue.
Whilst I was doing all this I measured the pressure of the old regulator and it sat at 3 bar whilst idling and move ever so slightly when bliping the throttle, I assume these is the correct pressure and characteristics off idle. However, I could only get 3 bar if I removed the hose which attaches the FPR to the manifold, with the hose attached it was registering 2.4 bar, does this sound right, or is the old FPR actually faulty?

This is absolutely correct behaviour for a 325i.
