Hi, does anyone here know a place I can get parts to change timing chain on an 318is (M42)?

BMW now only have some of the parts left, struggling to find sprockets and a guide rail

Has anyone else managed to change their timing chain recently? I know a lot of people say they have lifetime guarantee, but thinking better be safe than sorry! It's currently on 122,000

Many thanks :)

Rich may be along with some sound 318is advice.

Thanks man! I may have to just do it with the parts I've got and hope for the best! There's a metallic noise at around 3000rpm, I'm not sure what it is, doesn't seem to be any heat shields. So just wanted to take timing chain off the list as I'd rather that not snap on me!!

Need/ want to do this to mine too, but have the same problem… cant find any sprockets anywhere :/
Apparently if the chain has stretched you can hear it rattling against a guide when on overrun. Not at this stage yet luckily, will probably be there soon considering the abuse it takes though!
