Is there anyone who is lucky enough to own a Husco armrest, willing to measure the sideplates of the Husco armrest?
I need size, offset etc.
And if possible in Metric.

Im trying to replicate one “El Cheapo” as close as possible to the original.

Thanks for your attention.

I think this has a much better mounting solution than the Husco - the husco bolts onto the sides of the centre console and that kinda looks bad in my opinion. The one I've linked is expensive for what it is, but nowhere near as expensive as a Husco - I'd be inclined to buy this one and modify it to suit exactly what you want. I'm thinking of getting one and adding retractable cupholders like the husco, and the ability to fold the pad back to better access to the storage compartment next to the handbrake. Would make a nice project and looks like a good place to start
But, if you do want one that replicates Husco, then you could try this email address: dustinwherrmann@gmail.com from here: viewtopic.php?t=277452
They could be of help

thats the same one i've got,

i got mine from king elements, same place i got my replica tech 1 spoiler & fibreglass boot lid,

the way it mounts is a lot more secure & it has a more "factory" look to it.
yes you lose the rear ashtray but thats no hardship,

the leather is very soft & supple & it doesn't block the handbrake like the husco seems to.

as for the cup holders? never seen the appeal personally,

but i will say that out of the 2 armrests the husco looks like something you would buy from the likes of A1 motorspares in the late 90's/2000's.
also how can folk justify asking £400++ for them?
if it's got t*ts or wheels it's bound to be trouble...............prove me wrong.
getting oral sex off an ugly person is like rock climbing.....don't look down ;)

E30 Guys and girls.
Blessed are all your good intentions!

But my fellow Dirty 30 lovers, I did not ask for another option.

I know Tim’s CP.
Massively overpriced E36 muck.
And in my personal opinion it looks horrible!

I have seen all the other options.
And the E36/46 ones in all their different configurations.

Kudo’s to anyone that is satisfied with those options.

I just need the Husco specs mentioned in my initial post.

So I can fit that flimsy but period correct Husco piece of shite in my sedan.

I think I can do a fairly good job replicating the Husco, only better!
Hence the specs so I do not have to start from scratch!

Thanks much.

Like he said, what he wants is what he wants.
Personally I think it looks crap
I checked my '87 seats and they have the threaded bosses in the sides for arm rests so I might find some E46 ones and recover them as I don't see any E30 seat fitting arm rests..

I know a guy who has some that fit on the seats, OEM, will ask for you if he still has them

Agreed, they look shite but, his choice! E34 arm rests are a good option to fit to E30 seats, I'd go for a pair myself but they won't work on Recaros :(

This is not a discussion about the look and feel and if it is pleasing enough.

Or wether I should, or should not use any other armrest option available on God’s geen earth!

Its also not a discussion about, if anyone likes or dislikes the Husco.
Or what they do or do not like about their probably excellent choice in armrests.

Let’s please try and stick to my original question!!
——————————————————————————————-

Please!!!

Is there anyone that wants to take measurements from the ORIGINAL HUSCO ARMREST.
Especially the metal side panels.
Preferably in metric!
But imperial is also fine.

Love you all

People are only trying to give you different options, this happens on forums and I`m sure no one was out to offend in any way.

Mart.

I never thought anyone would be offended.
But there you go taking a stand for forum dwellers everywhere.

I just don’t want the thread cluttered with unnecessary posts once I clearly explained what I was searching for.

That “I imagine” has eluded your attention in some way.

Well for the sensitive people that might come across this post.
Im not trying to offend in any way.

I would just like for someone THAT ACTUALLY OWNS AN ORIGINAL HUSCO ARMREST!
And is willing to take some measurements to post the information so that I can try and make it better.

I have a Husco armrest which is original to the e30. Very comfortable, wide and a great height for gearchange. Got it recovered in leather recently. Wont have to car until Friday this week if that is of any use.

Yesssss
Thank u
That would be great!!!

I am not in any sort of a hurry.
Any time next week is ok if you could take some measurements off the metal mounts and post them !
Or PM them.
I will have a nice winter project.

En zoals we overal zeggen: "Nederlanders zijn rare mensen".

The problem with forums is you have to kiss a lot of frogs.

You will encounter a lot of jealousy with an original Husco armrest which also doubles as a picnic table--an ingenious design. Until I get hold of the car I am enclosing part instruction for installation which I had for some reason. One of the supports for the armrest is bolted to the console with two bolts and the other longer support is bolted under the handbrake using an existing nut and bolt in the car itself. These supports are both bent at the top to allow access to the storage pocket beside the handbrake. That is the set up for right hand drives anyway. I also have a pdf instruction in German and English for the installation if you want that Pdf file--for whatever reason it cannot be sent with this post--you can pm me your email if you want it anyway.

I was not talking about you offending others, but others actually offending you .
I was only trying to explain why people post other ideas when you asked just for singular replies.
Like Dan said, "this is the internet",so dismiss the other posts .
As long as it is within the forum rules, then hey ho
Face book this is not but people do have opinions and if within the rules then contributions are most welcome.

Thanks.
These instructions I have.
Also the installation manual. In English, German and Dutch.

The Only thing I need is sizes and measurements.
The pad I already have.

The metal sides I don’t.
Height
Where the brackets are bent, and at what height the folds come
The with of the mounting holes where the screws go.
Well you probably know what I meen.

I can send you a pm.
If that’s more convenient.

We are just chatting on the forum we know and love and although we were not answering your question directly we were providing related input and conversation - OK this input was not valuable to you which is fine but in some cases people do read things that are useful to them that come from answers that are not directly answers to their question. Forums typically aren't places you type a question and get the exact answer you want immediately, especially when its a niche question like in this case. Employ a little bit of politeness and friendliness because all of us were/are trying to help you out, in our own spare time, either it be by alternatives (which we weren't aware that you had already seen or are not interested in) or by a more accurate answer (in Contours case).

"This is not a discussion about the look and feel and if it is pleasing enough."
It's a discussion about anything we want it to be. Frankly, our inputs were related and possibly valuable to other readers who have not posted who may like the alternatives we have suggested (clearly these armrests are a matter of taste). If this were Facebook, or some other less friendly forum, you'd probably be called every name under the sun and the thread would be full of completely unrelated chatter. But I think we can all see that you just want an answer to your question, which is fine, but just go about it in a polite way.

Mansplaining much? 🤣
Maybe Face book is more your thing?
I had to look up "Mansplaining " .
You see I`m not that bright in the end.

Mart.
Not in the least bit surprising, when I decide to join you all in vomiting senseless FB comments on this thread.
Your community morality and cumbaya handholding kicks in.
Al of a sudden FB should be more of my thing.

I recall simply “asking” for a clean thread.

That didn’t agree at all with y’all freedoms of speech and “this is the internet man!” #sanctimonious forum etiquette.

Well I’m joining in ladies, both feet!

I really do not understand what you are saying.
This is a car forum.
Do you actually have a car?
An e30?

Mart.
Only the E46 cab left now.
Just got too old.

Did you ever read the first post in this thread.

Or did you jus feel the overwhelming urge to jump out of your pantyhose about me replying to unnecessary comments in this thread?

Like forum rules dictate Karen, I have properly introduced myself.

Try viewing that first.

Yess sweetheart, peachy.
The difference between demanding and asking has probably eluded you.

Excuse the rough drawing but here we are--photo shows the set up from the rear and the bends in the supports. The important thing is to get the Armrest straight when installed.
