Hi hoping everybody is having a great start of the year, I have been working on my interior lights today and the driver side does not work with the door open , only on the always on position, I tried cleaning all the contacts adjusting the pin switch, I am going crazy . One thing I noticed is the Driver side pin switch has two cables, one is green (that one is conected to the switch) and the other cables seems cut off, the color seem browinish. Is there something else I should check or could do? thanks to all

Try swapping the switches over passengers to drivers side and vice versa and see what happen. This will tell you if the drivers side switch is working or not, hope this helps.

This is the problem.
Both wires should be connected.

Hi ben thanks for the response, acording to the diagram one goes to the door handle and one to the switch so in theory both are connected, maybe the problem is the central locking but I am not shure I am up to fixing that, I dont want a end with a deadlocked car lol

The brown/purple wire at the pin switches goes to the lights (brown/yellow on the driver's side if you have an interior light delay unit), and the brown/blue is for the windows and roof.
First of all check that the pin switches are working properly. The inductive nature of the relay connected to the brown/blue wire gives that contact a much harder life than the one connected to the brown/purple wire, as that load is resistive only. Sometimes a little sliver of black plastic from the switch body forms across the contact surface of the switch, and needs to be scraped away with a craft knife.
The brown/purples from both front doors join together and go the coil of a (usually) blue relay behind the left rear of the glovebox. The other side of the coil is connected by a red/yellow wire to a permanently live terminal on the accessories socket (also behind the glovebox), which is fed from fuse 28.
Does that help?

Thanks Ben it really helps a lot , I will try cleaning again the switch, I aplied contact cleaner and also scraped but I will try again... I also try earthing the cable directly and the results were not different.. I might try to reinstalling the central locking on the drivers side and see if it helps the problem... what do you thing about that?

I finally figured it out in case it helps someone in the future, there are two wires connected to the pin switch at the drivers door, one (green is for the ignitionkey/seat belt warning) the brown/yellow one is for the interior dome light, actually broken on my car. Thanks for the help
