Hey guys I’m at a stumbling block trying remove the crankshaft… I can’t get the ally housing off the end to remove the crank because of this but behind the timing pulley…
Any help how to remove greatly appreciate before I start throwing tools at it haha

Do you have to remove the pulley (with the six holes ) first as it seems to be holding the casing on ?

Have you a three legged puller or you can cobble up a slide hammer using two bolts ,a piece of strip steel with three holes in .
The outer two bolt to the pulley and the centre one is the one which is attached to something you have to hand which can give it a jolt, if you know what I mean?

Most times just bolting something too it you can hang off while tapping with a copper hammer is enough

Thanks for the help guys, it’s all off and I’ve started cleaning everything…. Just another question, the main crankshaft seal… can I replace just the seal, or does it only come with the ally housing too? Only because the ally bit is nice and clean that’s all

Thanks!

Make sure you use BMW seals, aftermarket stuff is terrible in comparison
