Water in footwell

Just a quick one really.....

About 4 weeks ago, i thought i had solved my "water in the front passenger footwell" problem. The water appeared to be coming through one of the bungs in the floor pan, but yesterday, the carpet was drenched again.

So after stripping out the interior, checking the sunroof drain, the only thing i could see that was causing the water to get in, was that the big gromet on the bulkhead, under the fusebox, was poorly fitted. The bottom half was not sealed and hanging out.

Could this cause the water to get in ?

Sounds like the culprit mate. Try a hose pipe all over the screen and bulkhead and see if you can spot it coming in. Have you checked that the bulkhead drain is clear?

does ur engine loose any water by any chance?

my mate had this prob on his 2.8 capri. turns out heater matrix. but he explained he didnt have the time to sort it, and it stopped by itself anyway.
he was driving for weeks without engine water.head gasket went! mis fired on start up from then on, but ran ok once a bit warm. car just kept going! haha
