Hey! So my e30 is running rough on idle (up and down between about 700 to 1500 rpm)

I was thinking of grabbing some throttle body cleaner to try and clear it up, is this wise? Or maybe look for a new ICV?

Any help appreciated :-)

It is almost always air leaks on the induction side.

What Ben said, check the basics like splits in the intake bellows but easiest way is to get a smoke leak test done.
