I replaced the front strut inserts, top mounts, and spring pads on my ‘90 325i with Bilstein B8’s and the ride height is now about 1.5” higher than what it was before.
The old inserts were also B8’s. The upper spring pads appear to be 3-4mm thick, with the new ones being 9mm. This of course will raise the height a bit. The lower ones are also OEM BMW new so they’re a tad bit thicker than the old ones i removed but not by much.
I reused my H&R sport springs which shouldn’t have affected the ride height in the way that it did. When i removed the springs, i compressed them but didn’t decompress them between removing the old inserts and installing the new ones.
Does anyone know why the car raised up so much? Thanks for yo ur help. https://19216811.cam/ https://1921681001.id/

How far have you driven it since the work was done?
They take a few miles to settle.

Ride height is determined by the springs but may settle a bit as stated.
