Hi All,
I have a 1988 E30 M3 which is having some bodywork issues being addresssed. Inside the fuel filler flap, the lip around the access hole to the fuel cap was corroded. It is a very fiddly job to repair, so I'm looking for a panel section that can be bought. Is this a unique body feature to the M3, or can it be got from any E30 model?
I also need a part code for the rubber boot between this lip and the fuel tank neck, it was perished. I ordered one but it is a donut, not the boot that is needed. Any tips?

Thanks Henry, I think you're right.
Any ideas on the body panel part? It's the recessed aread under the filler flap - the larger end of that rubber seal fits onto it. That's the area that was rusted, and is covered in paint on my photo to keep it from getting worse while I sorted a new part. We could make a repair piece, but it would be a lot easier to buy one...
Mart - I will get some photos when the car is back out of the workshop!

You will be able to use the fuel filler recessed piece from a standard e30. Just need to cut out the old section and weld in the replacement. Not a big job for a decent body shop.
