My e30 318i M10. Starts and runs perfect, however, as soon as its driven, it seems to lose a cylinder. Have changed plugs, leads, and fuel and water pump. Car has only done 78k miles. The car has stood outside for 8yrs so just about to embark on restoring it. Any ideas what the fault could be?

If it's been sat then first thing would be to make sure the battery is in good condition and being charged by the alternator. You want to see good voltage when it is running.

It could be just old petrol sitting in the tank for 8 years.

Wont do any harm to drain and refresh it too.
Is it the same cylinder that goes down ? have you switched leads to see?
Dizzy cap and arm need looking at as well.

Mart.
Only the E46 cab left now.
Just got too old.
