I broke the end off my e30 325i driveshaft and as these are becoming very hard to get hold of and if you can find one they will be 40 years old and probably driven around the world twice while pulling a caravan, I wanted to replace the cv joints with some that i removed from a low milage e36 328i which have the same size cv joints but larger shafts. I tried finding information on how to remove the outer cv but kept reading that they could not be removed. This is how i did it if anyone is interested. I know you can probably buy remanufactured driveshafts but i am of the opinion that old genuine bmw shafts are still far better than aftermarket remade ones. Sorry but the video is a little long but it is quite a tricky job.
outer driveshaft cv removal (it can be done)

I admire your courage and determination....and whilst full BMW original replacements are a stinging 500 quid each side ( in stock with dealers ) there are loads of other replacements by Mahle SKF and so on down to about 60 quid each... as well as rebuilt originals....
Good for you though !!
