I've got a 1987 320i (gen 1 i think) with rear drum brakes. I've recently been given a set of bare trailing arms so i thought it would be the perfect opportunity for a rear disc conversion.
What are the parts i would need? 325i rear Hub+bearing. 1 piston caliper. Pads and discs for a 325? brake dust shield? Are the handbrake cables just a transplant or do i need new ones?
I read somewhere that the master cylinder needs to be changed to a 325i unit to compensate for rear discs
Anything else?

Hi. Here's the car. I did look at that article and it said i should i have a set of rear trailing arms with all those parts attached to it but i don't have those parts or know what part numbers they are. I've got a set of discs and pads, and i think i know which caliper. I'm struggling with knowing which are the other parts as I'm not familiar with them.martauto wrote: ↑Thu Oct 21, 2021 4:58 pmWelcome to the zone mate, lets see what you have please ? Mart.
I can put them together on a bench and then install them on the car.

If they are completely bare, you'll need:
Bearings 33 41 6 762 317
You can use the hubs from your drum arms
Back plates (34 21 1 162 061 left) (34 21 1 162 062 right)
Hand brake cables for rear disc car
Hand brake shoes and fitting kit for rear disc car (can find on ebay)
Calipers and carriers + fixings (I should have a spare set, drop me a PM)
Brake hard and flexi lines for the rear arms (34 32 1 159 878 over beam change as a service item if you have the beam off) (34 32 1 159 881 arm to caliper) (you can buy new rubber on ebay or you can go stainless steel)
All rear discs and pads are the same dimensions
Drive shaft nut retainers 33 41 1 124 945
Brake line clips x3 per side
Check out these diagrams for all the part numbers http://bmwfans.info/parts-catalog/E30-2 ... se/brakes/
Master cylider is the same. Usual internat nonsense that is. You can keep the one you have if it is working.
